Once upon a time 3 friends who had a lot of love for food and passion for sustainability had enough of seeing so much edible fruit and vegetables go to waste simply because of the ‘' wrong size, shape and colour''. They decided to team up and take the matter into their own hands, because food is too good to be wasted. Up and down they went across London fighting food waste and saving fruits and vegetables to make delicious smoothies.
By saving produce, we are also reducing the amount of carbon dioxide being emitted in the air.
Food waste in landfill sites breaks down emitting CO₂ and methane, a more harmful greenhouse gas. A 2016 WRAP report estimates food waste in the UK to be associated with around 20 million tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions each year.
We are on a mission to change our current food system for the better, whereby no food is wasted and inspire other food businesses to do the same. We want to save over 3000 tonnes of fruit and vegetables whilst
supporting over 20 independent UK farmers who will also benefit from an additional revenue stream for their unharvested or wonky produce which they often can’t sell to suppliers.
